Curriculum and Content Services

A team of writers and publishers makes up the EdisonLearning curriculum and content services area. This group provides two key services to EdisonLearning and our partners:

• Selection and oversight of the School Designs academic program
• Benchmark Assessment System content

Oversight of the academic program

“Demanding Content and Customized Instruction” is one of the Four Cornerstones™ of highly effective schools, the principles which lie at the foundation of EdisonLearning™ School Designs. The group that is responsible for this content is the Curriculum and Content Services team. The EdisonLearning School Designs academic program is a research-based, proven curriculum that is closely tied to state standards. 

EdisonLearning’s Curriculum and Content Services team regularly reviews and assesses curriculum programs. Curriculum is only chosen after an in-depth study of the latest and most successful programs on the market today. Thanks to this effort, a professional development program that focuses on effective instruction, and our experience with our thousands of users who experience the curriculum every day, EdisonLearning has the best, most engaging and efficacious curriculum in the K-12 space.

Benchmark Assessment System content

Curriculum and content services is responsible for the EdisonLearning™ Benchmarks. The creation of a formative assessment system that is not only aligned with state standards but written to state standards is a monumental piece of value-added content for schools and students. 

Our content team maps out each state’s assessment strategy, and then writes assessment content specifically to that state’s strategy, so that students have the best chance to master the standards and skills that have been identified. Learning is much more powerful when a state’s expectations are captured in such a customized manner, including a knowledge of the frequency of skills and the format of questions. 

From the student’s perspective, monthly benchmarks mirror the form and content of high stakes tests, and therefore increase not only student knowledge but also their confidence.
